How many backend keywords does Amazon allow?
It's a 250-byte field, not a character count. Target 249 bytes. Accented and non-Latin characters consume more than one byte each, so a field that looks short can still overflow.
Should I repeat title words in search terms?
No. Amazon already indexes your title. Repetition wastes bytes that could hold synonyms, misspellings, and use-case phrases you couldn't fit elsewhere.
Do commas count against the limit?
Use spaces, not commas — separators consume bytes, and Amazon treats spaces as the delimiter anyway.
